Dr. Kent Carder started Chiropractic College in OKC at Carver College of Chiropractic in the fall of 1957 and was transferred to Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Mo., in the fall of 1958, when Carver Chiropractic College amalgamated with Logan. He graduated Logan College of Chiropractic in September 1960 and opened a practice in El Reno in January 1961. He also holds a Chiropractic Orthopedics degree graduating from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1972.

During his professional years as a Chiropractic Physician he held several offices, being dedicated to improving the quality and acceptance of Chiropractic. He was the Oklahoma State Delegate to the American Chiropractic Association for 14 years. He served on the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research for 9 years as the House of Delegates Representative. While on that foundation he participated in working toward and achieving accreditation of Chiropractic educational hours, which led to CCE recognition by the federal government. Governor George Nigh first appointed him to the Oklahoma Board of Chiropractic Examiners. He was put there to improve the accreditation of the state board examination. He served this board through several Governors over the next 18 years.

He served the Chiropractic profession on a daily basis for almost 61 years! He had a true compassion for his patients and cared very deeply about healing.

He held many political offices including City Council and Vice-Mayor.

He had seven grown children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandkids. He was elated when his daughter Dr. Lacey Carder-Holden joined him in practice in January of 2012.

Dr. Kent went to be with our Lord and Savior on Valentine's Day 2022 and was surrounded by family. There will be a hole in our hearts until we get to see him again. He will be missed greatly by many.
